This Monday the 17th
This week we’re meeting once again at 6pm at Howard House and we’re continuing looking at Jesus’ Parables in Luke so please do come along to that, we’ll try and bring some of the biscuits we discussed last week. Then once again we’ll be heading over to
the Meeting house for Sussex CU

Also coming up on the 11th of November – The CU Weekend Away!
This is a weekend organised by the Sussex CU and is one of the biggest events of the year – I cannot recommend it enough! It is a great opportunity to make some really strong friendships at uni with people who are going to be able to encourage you in your faith. It’s a fantastic way to reconnect with God and take a breather from the chaos of university and rededicate your uni life to God through some talks, studies and worship.
The cost of the Weekend is £40 this includes everything you need for the weekend, all transport and food and activities. Last year it was £55 and the CU has worked really hard to bring the price down so it really is incredible value! If you do want to come and money is any kind of issue, please don’t let it be! There are ways for you to come regardless of cost, please just ask Phoebe or I if that’s something you’d like to discuss.
You need to bring your money ASAP, ideally bring it on Monday because otherwise we’re going to have to try and fund the trip out of our pockets and we do not have over £1000!
Please come! If you’re thinking about it and you’re not sure – please pray about it, it would be great to have as many people there as possible!

Another week has passed! Congratulations for making it through your first week of (or back at) medical school!

So we’re on to Week 2:

Monday 10th October
Tomorrow is Sunday so if you’re looking for a church to get settled into Phoebe and I would be more than happy to have you come with us. Again just give us a ring or text and we’ll arrange somewhere to meet before heading off to Church. I (Edwin) go to St Peters Church and there is a meal after the 10am service for students and Pizza after the 6pm service for students too which you would all be very welcome at.

Monday MCU at Howard House. We’re looking at the book of Luke this term and this Monday it’s on Luke 13 so if you want you can have a look at that before hand if you fancy it.
There was some problem finding Howard House last week so we’ll put a sign on the gate of the house. Just head to Falmer train station (the Sussex side) and we’re almost directly opposite as you come out. If you’re there and you still can’t find it or the sign has blown away ring Edwin on 07963479580 or Phoebe on 07827975711. Then as usual we’re all heading to the Sussex CU which is at the meeting house (big round building on Sussex side).

Last week we mentioned a guys and girls social meal where all the girls head off to Phoebe’s for a meal and all the guys go to Matt and Dave’s, we had to postpone that because it was such a busy week and lots of people had vital sports meetings and such and we still hadn’t met all of you, but it is still going ahead and we will let you know all the details about that hopefully this week!

Once again it’ll be great to see you on Monday Phoebe and I are so excited for this term and we can’t wait to get to know you all better and see the group grow.

Monday 3rd October: Howard House at 5.30pm for pizza (don’t worry it’s on us) and an opportunity to get to know each other. We’ll then be heading over to the University of Sussex Christian Union which meets at the Meeting House.

Friday 7th October: Come to our houses for a lads and ladies meal. Details on Monday or catch us during the week.

Don’t forget there are USCU events throughout the week: Prayer Breakfast on a Tuesday morning, Prayer Angels/Man Prayer on a Wednesday afternoon, Tea and Toast on a Thursday night. More information will be available on Monday.
